Convinced That I Was Making Progress On My Own Account And Was Therefore Unlikely To Need To Pay For Additional Help..... September 2008 Reference for Connaught Executive Limited (Connaught) To whom it may concerned I came to my initial meeting with Connaught convinced that I was making progress on my own account and was therefore unlikely to need to pay for additional help, and, whilst I had some successes in reaching the interview stage over the next month or so, I continued in this frame of mind. However, as a number of these opportunities came to nothing, it increasingly dawned on me that, whilst I was 80 per cent there, it was that last 20 per cent that would enable me to land the role. It was also becoming an increasingly lonely plight and I was feeling embarrassed at my lack of success. Signing up to Connaught meant that immediately I had an experienced professional to work with I was no longer struggling on my own and, rather than embarrassment, I was able to build up my confidence again. The Connaught consultant quickly identified both what I was doing right and where there were areas for improvement, so I had a targeted programme to deal with the 20 per cent where I needed help without wasting time on the 80 per cent where I did not. Within a few months I was in later stage discussions on two positions, one of which I took. My one regret is that I did not come to Connaught earlier. AE |
